Hey W453,
I will now share of my personal testimony of a breakthrough I experienced.
I am not raised in a Christian family, and face parental objection at times. Even though I’ve been in CHC for 2 years already, I have yet to go for water baptism.
Many a times, I have been provoked when I see members going for water baptism. In order for me to be water baptized, I would need parental consent as I am under 21 years old. Every single time, a water baptism service comes up, I would ask my parents to agree to my baptism, yet to no avail. Sometimes, they not only rejected my request, they even ignored me for days or weeks. I wanted so much to be water baptized, I often asked myself when my turn would come.
During the previous round of water baptism, Angel Lee, Rachel, Mervin and Angel Yap was baptized. I remember myself feeling very provoked, and I told myself that I am going for the next round, no matter what circumstances. However, having faced rejection for a few times already, I was afraid that my parents would ignore me for weeks again. I would need to go through the stage whereby I have to ask for my parents’ consent once more.
At the start of 2009, Pastor Kong gave out the year planner for the church. When he was going through the planner, I saw that there would be water baptism services on 28 February. I quickly penned down the words, “I WILL GO!” on it and kept the planner inside my notebook. I also prayed over it every single day. Following the cellgroup vision, I was focused and kept praying for my day of breakthrough to come.
A few weeks ago, Edwin asked the cellgroup who would want to go for this round of water baptism, I immediately told him that I want to go for it. Edwin said, “to go into this pool, you would need your parents’ consent.”
Without a second thought, I said “Yes, I will go.”
Yet, inside my heart, I knew I had to face my parents and I did not know how to go about asking for their consent.
I went home and prayed. I told God that I do not know how to, but I trust that He would take care of the situation and give me provision for my needs.
I got the consent form from Edwin. I went home and talked to my mum about my choice of going for water baptism. She was not angry at all, and I ended up spending 2 hours talking to her.
And of course, she finally signed on the line and gave her consent for my water baptism! PRAISE THE LORD!
I will be going for the water baptism on 28th February! PRAISE THE LORD!Truly our God is our Provider. And whatever we ask in His name, He will provide for us. W453, I really want to challenge you all to write down all your needs on your prayer booklet, be focused and start praying for your breakthrough! If you keep knocking on God's door, He will open the door and pour out His blessings from Heaven. :D
